Lewis Scott is an artist using painting, photography and architectural thinking to express the effects created by the built and natural environments around us. The most important aspects of the work are light, atmosphere and moving form. The process behind his paintings is routed in drawing and contrast, with many pieces starting as black and white compositions. More recent work has started to use subdued tones to explore abstract light and movement within these earlier stark cityscapes as a way of giving an impression of atmosphere.
The artist currently lives between Vienna and London after graduating from Central St Martins College of Art and Design in 2008. His work has been exhibited widely and is now shown in both London and Vienna. 'The Transient City', a London debut solo show, took place in July 2008 at the Empire Gallery in Vyner Street and his work hangs in many private and corporate locations within the UK and Europe.
